Use These Window-Covering Images to Compare Function
A window treatment changes more than the view. It controls glare, privacy, softness, and the amount of visual weight around a window. As you browse, compare how woven shades add texture, sheers preserve a light feeling, shutters create architectural structure, and screen shades reduce brightness with a quieter profile. Notice whether the treatment sits inside the opening, overlaps it, or extends to the floor; mounting and proportion can make the same window feel very different.
For a Maui room, start with the window's direction, the time glare becomes uncomfortable, and whether preserving an ocean, garden, or mountain view matters when the covering is lowered. Bedrooms and street-facing rooms may need stronger privacy than shared living spaces. Large doors introduce stacking and access questions. Save images for the function and silhouette you like, then compare those ideas against the actual dimensions and light in your room.
What to Look For
Light and view
Compare open, filtered, and closed positions. A treatment that looks airy in a bright image may provide a different degree of nighttime privacy.
Frame and stack
Notice how much glass remains visible and where fabric, vanes, or panels collect when open.
Room coordination
Look at the relationship between treatment color, wall tone, flooring, and upholstery—not the shade in isolation.
